Investment Workshop: If you're raising money in London, you can't afford not to attend!

9.00 - Welcome & Introduction

9.15 - The Investment Landscape: Mike Bowman, Investment Director, E-Synergy

We've all read the doom, gloom and scare-mongering, but what's the real impact of the recession on the early stage investment landscape? Are we out of the woods yet and if so, is it going to get easier to access capital?

9.30 - Inside track from an established business angel and VC: Richard Brook, Founding Director, E-Synergy

What does it really take to get over that elusive investment line? Professional investors typically invest in one out of fifty opportunities they see - what's really going to make your business stand out as an investor?

10.30 - Interactive investor Q&A session: Guest speaker - a prominent investor (TBC)

We've all heard it: "too early", "too late", "wrong sector", "wrong shoe size", the list goes on. It's your chance to grill one of London's leading early stage investors on what they're really looking for.

11.15 - Entrepreneurs become investors!

All entrepreneurs will be given the chance to give a short investment pitch on their business in the hope of being chosen by industry peers as the most investable proposition in the room. There can only be one winner!

12.45 - Networking Lunch

13.45 - Management Team and Pitching to Investors: Richard Cumming, Senior Consultant, Quotec

The management team is the single most important factor in every early stage investment decision. If credibility is lost here it doesn't matter how good the rest of the proposition is - it will get thrown out. Understand how best to showcase your management team to investors.

14.45 The Numbers: The Market, Business Model and Projections: Rose Lewis, Partner, Pembridge

For every Google and Facebook there are thousands of businesses that failed to raise financing because they couldn't credibly articulate the market or the business model. In today's economy, investors will only back businesses that know how they're going to make money and fast!

15.45 Investor Types and Profiles: Who's Out There for You: Darrel Connell, Corporate Finance, Grant Thornton

Over 60% of investor meetings or pitches are pointless. The investors are either not interested in your sector, they think your proposition is too early, you want too little capital, or more likely in recent years, they have NO money but would never admit it. Stop wasting time and find out who's out there and actually investing.

16.30 The Fund Raising Story: Guest speaker - a successful enterpreneur (TBC)

17.00 Feedback and wrap up

18.00 Event closes
